I create with the intent to explore and honor my own emotions, which, for the longest time were shelved as hindrances. In utilizing sharp value scales and expressive palettes, I combat against contradictions and confusions. My work bridges conflicts—like my involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations and inner queerness with emotional transparency. Informed by my science-minded family, I am preoccupied with bringing physical quality to any internal thoughts. Often represented by the mode of portraits, I am drawn to the intangibility of our inner worlds. These can be depicted in tender scenes, precious moments, and fleeting inspirations.
